BLACK TRIANGLE SIGHTING IN HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI ON JUNE 22ND 1999 - OBSERVED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A FLARE ASCENDING AFTER OBSERVING OTHER FLARES OVER A FIRING RANGE WHEN THE FLARE NEVER DESCENDED I LOOK THROUGH MY NIGHTVISION SCOPE MOUNTED ON MY HMMM THE OBJECT WAS CIGAR SHAPED WITH 4TO 5 WINDOWS THAT SEEMED TO BE BACK LIT.

I was on a training mission at camp Shelby training facility my scout unit wAs scatter along the tree lines surrounding a 250 to 300 yard field i was on watch on top of my hmmv it was about 11 or 12 at night. To pass time I Was watching flares go up then illuminate as the floated down over a tank firing then listen to the tanks firing then a flare ascended but it was farther left of the others and when it illuminated and float down it remained stationary look like a star I waited then a looked through the nightvision scope mounted on the m60 i was manning I saw and object with 4 to 5 circular white lights or windows but they gave off no light just dull white I then look with My naked I see the star through the scope an object then I hoped down into my vehicle and woke the medic that was attached to my squad and pointed out the star and asked him to look through the scope and tell me what he saw he did then look at me then looked again confirming the same he saw what I saw after about 15 to 20 mins it started slowly moving to my right along the tree tops the star behind it were blocked showing the the outline of the object and the tops of the trees passed in front of the windows then it moved toward my position stopping directly overhead then we could see that the object was triangle shaped with a circle in the center all black then it started slowly ascending and spinning then it rapidly ascended out of view
