The "Back Trail" camera continues to pay dividends. I am working on volume 2 of the Bigfoot Field Journal and beginning to review hundreds of hours of video for the first time. In February of 2011 I was at the Public Land Research Area when I noticed this black figure on the back trail footage. The camera I was using is a High Definition Camera. It takes video at 720p. I had paused along the trail for approximately five minutes. This gave the subject time to move forward and peek around the tree. Though not clear the facial features are easily recognizable and the flesh tone color of the face is apparent in some frames.
Some may say this is a person following you and I can not rule that out. The question I would have is why would a person follow through such heavy foliage and how did he keep from making any noise?
I urge any researcher out there please, please use a "Back Trail Camera". There is more going on behind you than you think!

The astronaut candidates must be prepared to be patient for the job, though. The application period closed on January 27, 2012. There is an extensive period of review, interviews, medical testing, and other things to start to weed through and narrow the 6,372 candidates for NASA to hire but a few.
Candidates are required to have at least a bachelor's degree - most astronauts have a master's or a doctorate - in engineering, biological science, physical science or math. Successful astronaut candidates must learn Russian, but be a U.S. citizen. To advance in the selection process, one must know basic physics. Being a medical doctor or a teacher helps. Candidate eye sight must be corrected to 20/20, no high blood pressure and be between 5 foot 2 inches and 6 foot 3 inches.
The current crop of astronaut applicants are the second-highest number of applications ever received. More than 8,000 applied to become one of the 35 NASA ASTRONAUTS IN 1978 - the class selected to fly missions during the advent of shuttle operations.
In about three to five years, NASA hopes to purchase trips for astronauts headed to the space station on American-built commercial rockets, instead of riding the Russian Soyuz rocket and capsule to orbit and the International Space Station. And eventually, NASA hopes to fly astronauts in a government owned Orion capsule to an asteroid or even Mars, but those pioneering trips are more than a decade away.
From the most recent applicants, NASA will select only nine to 15 to join the astronaut corps in March 2013. Salary range: 64,724.00 TO 141,715.00 / PER YEAR + BENEFITS. Extensive foreign travel, public speaking and training is to be expected, plus some space travel from time-to-time.

The ATSB is governed by a commission and is entirely separate from transport policy makers, industry operators, and from transport regulators such as the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA.)"FOI ACT REQUEST:I asked for:"1. F27 plt reported white."7. 19 OCT 1979: 197904657.At 19:45hrs near Broken Hill, NSW. An F27 MK 200. Flight Broken Hill to Adelaide. "Acft, however no known acft in area. "The pilot reported an unidentified flying object, bright red/orange in colour 100ft below and travelling very fast as the aircraft passed 9,000ft. The object was approximately 2 meters across and the pilot believed that it may have been a model aircraft." 8900ft.10. 25 JAN 2011: ATSB TELEPHONE NOTIFICATION FORM.23:29hrs Mackay, Qld. "Reported seeing a bright orange light with a dark centre appearing from the horizon, turning 90 deg and took off into the distance at high velocity with no sound. The object was captured on the iphone. (2 photos and a movie.) I referred him to the UFO hotline."PREVIOUS POST:In a post dated 18 Jun 2012 (click here to read) I provided the results of a 2004 FOI Act request to the federal Department of Transport and Regional Services. This request resulted in a response from Rob Graham, Director, Safety Investigations, and utilised the OASIS aviation occurrencee database of the ASTSB.Comparing the 2004 and 2012 FOI Act requests reveals that of the occurrence detail reports mentioned in this current request, numbers 1-9 were also provided to me in 2004 (although with less details.) Only number 10 of the current request is new, perhaps due to its date of 2011. It is also interesting to note that the 25 Jan 2011 report was referred to a UFO Hotline, presumably that run by AUFORN. A check of the 2011 reports on the AUFORN website database (click here to look at hundreds of their report) failed to locate any such report made to them. I contacted AUFORN directly and Rob Frola advised me he had never heard of this report.IN CONCLUSION:I have now completed my FOI Act requests to the two main Australian Government agencies which are likely to receive UAP reports from civilian airline pilots. As you can see they responded with limited data.Prior to the closure of the RAAF's UFO investigations, there were dozens of pilot reports to the RAAF. The question therefore remains as to whether the number of UAP observations by pilots has declined in recent times, or whether pilots simply do not report sightings of unusual objects in the skies?I'd appreciate hearing from any blog readers who are also pilots.

INTRODUCTION:
Balloons of all kinds can cause reports of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP.) Long term readers of this blog may recall that I wrote a series of posts about the stratospheric balloon program known as HIBAL. In Australia, HIBAL was a joint program between the US Atomic Energy Commission and the Australian Department of Supply, launching large balloons from Mildura, Victoria. EARLY REPORTS:
In June 1948, US pilot Captain Thomas Mantell died while attempting to intercept a UAP. However, later data suggested that the UAP was most likely a US Navy Skyhook balloon (click here.) Writing about James E McDonald, in her 2003 book "Firestorm" Ann Druffel wrote "McDonald was satisfied that Moore's balloon-flight data explained the Mantell incident..." (Druffel. Another US Skyhook balloon, in October 1953, crossed from the US to the United Kingdom (UK) and on 3 Nov 1953 was spotted near London by a Royal Air Force aircraft. On 19 May 1988, a witness was travelling by car near Bandendone, Queensland and at 1.25pm saw an object in the sky, reflecting "metal-like" in the sunlight. There was no associated sound. It appeared to be hovering before rising steadily as it travelled east. An Excite x-ray telescope had been launched by a balloon from Alice Springs, NT that day and appears to have caused the report. SMALLER BALLOONS:
Thousands of meteorological balloons are launched from airports and other sites every day to obtain details of the atmospheric conditions. If you live near one of these sites you may, from time to time, see these balloons and their associated equipment ascending into the sky, or the equipment descending if the balloon itself has burst.
Since the mid 1990's hundreds of reports have been received by Australian UAP research groups, which describe either single, or multiple in formation, orange coloured lights travelling across the night sky. These observations have come from most Australian capital cities and many regional centres.
Investigation of thes reports indicate that the source are hot air filled garbage bags launched by individuals trying to cause UAP reports. The reports tend to come in clusters, e.g. around the Narre Warren area of Melbourne, Victoria in June 1996 ; Townsville, Queensland in July 1998. People have been seen launching these bags; and remains of bags have been found. These kind of UAP continue to be reported today. The latest known to me was observed from Mawson Lakes, a northern Adelaide suburb in early March 2013.
In the UK hundreds of UAP reports are believed to have been due to Chinese lanterns being launched into the skies, in recent years (for video click here.)
