The uncrewed Orion capsule is scheduled to launch no earlier than Dec. 4 at 7:05 a.m. ET atop a Delta IV Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Launch Complex 37 in Florida.

The team will use a U.S. Navy NP-3D aircraft, also called Orion, to capture the imagery. It is equipped with a long-range infrared optical system called "Cast Glance." The NP-3D Orion is one of five operated by the NAVAIR Weapons Division's Air Test and Evaluation Squadron-30 (VX-30), Pt. Mugu, California. The research effort is sponsored by the NASA Engineering and Safety Center.

After the team has confirmation of the launch, the aircraft will fly from its base in Pt. Mugu to the desired observation location over the Pacific Ocean, 200-300 miles from California's Baja Peninsula. Once the aircraft reaches a point about 25 miles away from the Orion's projected entry trajectory, it continues flying in a sort of race track pattern until the capsule enters the atmosphere and emits enough thermal energy for the plane's infrared cameras to catch a glimpse. Then the crew will scramble to take images as Orion descends at hypersonic speeds.

The SCIFLI team will have personnel inside the Mission Control Center in Houston and at Pt. Mugu to support and coordinate aircraft operations.

Another Navy NP-3D Cast Glance aircraft, sponsored by the Orion program, will also follow the water landing with cameras, but looking more at the descent - especially the parachutes. The drogues - deploy at an altitude of 22,000 feet.

Astronauts have closed the hatch on the vehicle, and the module has been released from the station. Dragon is targeted to land in the Pacific Ocean, a few hundred miles west of Southern California, at approximately 8:44 AM Pacific/11:44 AM Eastern on Thursday, May 31st. The spacecraft returns to Earth like a burning comet, protected from extreme reentry temperatures by its powerful PICA-X heat shield. The landing location is controlled by firing the Draco thrusters during reentry. In a carefully timed sequence of events, dual drogue parachutes deploy at 45,000 feet to stabilize and slow the spacecraft. Full deployment of the drogues triggers the release of the main parachutes, each 116 feet in diameter, at about 10,000 feet, with the drogues detaching from the spacecraft. Main parachutes further slow the spacecraft's descent to approximately 16 to 18 feet per second. As I watched this video, I noticed that it looks like a lens flare, but it really is a solid object. I altered the screenshots to make sure and the object is there, but in three dimensions and it was. If it had been a lens flare it would be just flat. What amazes me even more is the fact it really does go under the clouds! Watch it in full screen mode to confirm. This ship looks to be several kilometres across. This is a fantastic catch, one of hundreds that should be used in a court of law to force NASA into telling us the truth...that aliens exist. I'm sure funding for such a project would be easy, just as would getting together the UFO videos and photos of NASA evidence that cannot be refuted since the evidence I am speaking of is directly recorded by NASA, but we all know what NASA really stands for, Not A Single Answer.
