Ele ganhou as manchetes durante seu mandato na Casa Branca, quando ele tinha uma festa de anivers'ario tem'atica do X-files. Ele 'e f~a da s'erie de TV. Para um homem do seu n'ivel ter interesse em sci-fi n~ao 'e t~ao incomum. No entanto, a profundidade de seu interesse em UFOs foi revelado quando ele falou em uma confer^encia de imprensa no Land Force Baton, pedindo ao governo para liberar seus arquivos secretos sobre UFOs para que os cientistas pudessem determinar a natureza dos fen^omenos.2005 - O ex-Pres. Em 2002, a Coaliz~ao para a Liberdade de Informac~ao dirigido pelo jornalista Leslie Kean, juntamente com o channel Sci-Fi (agora SyFy), realizou uma confer^encia de imprensa no Land Force Baton em Washington DC para resolver a quest~ao do sigilo sobre o assunto dos OVNIs. Nessa reuni~ao Podesta declarou: "'E hora de o governo desclassificar relat'orios que t^em mais de 25 anos de idade, e fornecer dados aos cientistas que ajudar~ao a determinar a verdadeira natureza deste fen^omeno." A liberdade de informac~ao era uma grande preocupac~ao para a administrac~ao Clinton. Na verdade, Podesta estava no comando de um projeto para desclassificar milh~oes de documentos do governo. Ser'a que Podesta n~ao encontrou os documentos de OVNIs que estava procurando naquelas pilhas de arquivos desclassificados? N'os sabemos que Podesta n~ao estava sozinho na Casa Branca de Clinton quando ele veio procurar a verdade por tr'as do mist'erio UFO."

Es con gran pena que debemos informar el deceso de uno de los iconos de la Ovnilog'ia; Richard (Dick) Hall, sucumbi'o al c'ancer el 17 de Julio de 2009, a la edad de 78 a~nos.
Richard Harris Hall naci'o el 25 de Diciembre de 1930, en Hartford, Connectticut. En 1949, d'andose cuenta que se aproximaba la guerra, pas'o dos a~nos con la recientemente formada Fuerza A'erea, seguidos de seis a~nos en la Reserva de la Fuerza A'erea. Richard ley'o el libro de Donald Keyhoe Los Platillos Volantes son Reales (1950) mientras serv'ia en la Fuerza A'era de Estados Unidos.
Luego de su servicio tuvo diferentes trabajos y se desplaz'o un poco, hasta que lleg'o a la Universidad de Tulane (en Nueva Orl'eans) en 1954. Inicialmente se especializ'o en matem'aticas y luego cambi'o para filosof'ia. Mientras asist'ia a la Universidad de Tulane (de la cual obtuvo su Bachillerato en 1958), Dick edit'o un peque~no bolet'in sobre OVNIs llamado Satellite. Tambi'en co-edit'o con el abogado brasile~no Dr. Jos'e Escobar Far'ia, el UFO Critial Bulletin hacia finales de la d'ecada de los a~nos 50 e inicios de los 6t0.
Desde 1958 a 1968 fue secretario del National Investigagions Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) que dirig'ia Keyhoe. Ese fue el tiempo en que Dick estaba ocupado preparando mensualmente The UFO Investigator, que era el bolet'in de NICAP. Desde 1993 hasta 1998 Dick prestar'a servicios como Presidente del Fund for UFO Research (Fondo para la Investigaci'on OVNI). Fue un prol'ifico escritor, autor de varios libros, algunos de los cuales se consideran distintivos para la investigaci'on Ovnil'ogica, por ejemplo: UFO Evidence, The UFO Evidence, Volume II: A Thirty-year Report, Uninvited Guests, siendo su 'ultimo compromiso The Journal of UFO History, un peri'odico mensual detallando los anales de la Ovnilog'ia.
El 6 de Diciembre de 2004, el miembro del GEFAI Milton W. Hourcade, visit'o a Richard Hall en Maryland, donde disfrutaron de una amable conversaci'on, y muy gentilmente Hall le permiti'o a Hourcade ver algunos materiales de sus archivos para verificar cierta informaci'on solicitada desde Espa~na por el miembro del GEFAI, Vicente Juan Ballester Olmos.
Richard Hall sosten'ia la HET y por sobre todo fue un extraordinario compilador de informaci'on referida a denuncias de OVNI tanto de fuentes oficiales como privadas. Su dedicaci'on a trav'es de vasta parte de su vida, su seriedad en el encare del tema, y los frutos de su labor, ser'an recordados para siempre.

A few months ago, George Noory, host of the radio talk show "Coast to Coast AM" held a debate between Ufologist/physicist Stanton Friedman and Seth Shostak, director of the government-funded program, SETI (the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence). Well into the debate, Seth posed an "If-Then Proposition" which is a method used in logic to determine the validity of an argument.
Seth asked Stanton, IF there are such things as UFOs, THEN why do we not have a spaceship to analyze in the laboratory?
Seth's argument was that IF there is no spaceship, THEN there is no UFO reality.
Seth's argument of course is invalid and therefore illogical. But then so are many of the arguments of the naysayers who deny the existence of UFOs. But the argument against UFOs is flawed in another way -- the naysayers don't take the overwhelming amount of CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE into consideration.
Circumstantial evidence? What good is that?
Circumstantial evidence is good enough to be used by science to discover new planets in the universe. The actual planet is never found; rather science locates celestial objects that have "perturbations" -- distortions from the magnetic pull of the new planet. Somehow this kind of circumstantial evidence works amazingly well when science wants it to work.
Circumstantial evidence is also a powerful indicator in justice. The most recent example is the Scott Peterson case. Peterson was recently convicted of killing his wife and his unborn son though there was no actual evidence discovered to link him with the crime. So why was he charged with first- and second-degree murder? Circumstantial evidence. The jury used "meta-logic" to look at the larger picture painted by the circumstantial evidence and from that, they decreed that Peterson was the perpetrator of that heinous crime.
A convincing argument supporting the use of circumstantial evidence was recently made in a column by political pundit and attorney Ann Coulter. Her column was an essay on the use of circumstantial evidence as it relates to a murder case, but the arguments that she uses can support the reality of UFOs, as well. (I've added UFO references in parentheses so that the reader can see how Ann's arguments can also be applied to UFOs.)
In the December 21, 2004 column, Ann Coulter wrote:
"In a murder case, all evidence of guilt other than eyewitness testimony is 'circumstantial.' Inasmuch as most murders (or most UFO sightings) do not occur at Grand Central Terminal during rush hour, it is not an uncommon occurrence to have murder convictions (or the acknowledgement of a true UFO event) based entirely on circumstantial evidence. DNA evidence is 'circumstantial evidence.' Fingerprints are 'circumstantial evidence.' An eyewitness account of the perpetrator fleeing the scene of a stabbing with a bloody knife is 'circumstantial evidence.' Please stop referring to 'circumstantial evidence' as if it doesn't count."
UFOs also produce circumstantial evidence in radar anomalies, atmospheric and environmental changes, physical evidence -- and thousands upon thousands of eyewitness reports from people in every strata of society, including astronauts (like the late Gordon Cooper) and pilots who are trained to know the difference between the planet Venus and an unidentified flying object.
Circumstantial evidence does count; it is important. UFOs exist and the substantial amount of circumstantial evidence proves it.
